HSEQ & Compliance Manager, £40 - £50k + Benefits, PT or FT, in South Yorkshire.


Due to an employee's retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen at an international manufacturing firm, with its UK operations based in the South Yorkshire area. As the HSQE manger on the site, you will play a pivotal role in the development and success of the company and the multi-disciplinary team that you'll be working with. Potential for a sales role in the business if candidate is interested. Permanent preferred, however they are open to a freelance/interim option. Benefits include 5% pension scheme and 28 days holiday-plus bank holidays.
Part time or full time working hours are available.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be solely responsible for HSEQ, Compliance and Facilities. You'll oversee the day-to-day running of on-site facilities and create effective mission statements in order to keep employees safe. You will keep up to date with relevant legislation and ensure all inspections, audits, training and operations are accurately carried out and recorded. You'll be well-organised, an excellent communicator, flexible, and have good time management skills.


Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Maintain and review the companies systems and operations to be in check with compliance regulations.
  • Understanding internal and external audits to ensure that the company is in line.
  • Train operational staff.
  • Investigate, or where appropriate, to lead and assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence
  • Construction phase plans, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Record accurate information for project and customer reporting.

You will have previous experience in a similar role. Ideally, you will have a strong background in construction and excellent knowledge of HSEQ legislation and procedures in this industry. In order to be successful, you will be a NEBOSH qualified candidate with good auditing experience and certification. A certification as an Appointed Person in Lifting Operations is desirable but could be overlooked for the right candidate. Experience developing RAMS is also beneficial.


What you'll need to succeed:

  • Good Organisational Skills.
  • Relevant IT Skills - MS Office.
  • Good communication skills, Customer focused attitude and sociable personality.
  • A flexible approach to the working day and a willingness to Work out of hours, as required.
  • Auditing certification in required fields
