Project Development Manager - Global Multidisciplinary practice - Central London

Your new company
I am representing a global multidisciplinary practice which is committed to delivering new housing programmes and looking for an experienced Project Manager/Development Manager to join the Local Authority Housing Regeneration in London and the South East.

Your new role
As a Project Manager/Development Manager you will deliver service excellence by providing solutions, predominantly, but not exclusively, to local authority clients delivering complex and challenging housing development projects on local authority owned land.

This will include but not be limited to:

* The delivery of property development solutions from inception through feasibility, design and planning stages to completion and exit
* Creating development strategies and establishing scheme viability for mixed tenure and affordable housing residential schemes
* Analysis and production of property and housing backed business case solutions, using experience of direct local authority residential development, the use of wholly owned companies, joint ventures and other partnering solutions.
* Assembling and leading multi-disciplinary design teams
* Lead the procurement and appointment of developer partners with support from the Council officers and legal advisors
* Lead the procurement and appointment of contractors
* Providing leadership and advice on all matters of housing development for local authority clients


What you'll need to succeed

* MRICS status or equivalent project management professional qualification
* A degree in: Property Development or Project Management related discipline

* In-depth knowledge and understanding of housing development for local authorities in a consultancy environment across all elements of the development process from strategy to project completion
* Experience of managing complex procurement processes and the commercial negotiations to delivery successful development and construction projects
* Numerate and able to analyse and create multi-phase project cash flows and feasibilities
* Personal presence and confidence to lead a multi-disciplinary design team and be able to advise the Council at a senior management level
* Experience of managing multi-sector staff and getting the best out of them to deliver outstanding project solutions
* Full driving licence (travel will be required across)
* Existing local authority client networks across London and the South East
* Existing developer and contractor contacts
* Experience of operating Argus Developer appraisal software and development cashflow analysis.
* Understanding of sustainability issues, particularly zero carbon in residential development
* Experience of working for local authority
* Practical delivery of modular housing and modern methods of construction
