Senior Building Control Officer job on a 6 month interim assignment


Your new company
You will be working for a Local Authority who are based in the Essex region and will become an important part of their highly experienced and stable building control team. This role is vacant due to a retirement in the team and will start as a 6 month interim assignment, however, will be reviewed with the possibility of an extension. Remote working will be supported due to covid-19, however, the authority will be able to accommodate you with working in the council offices if and when required.

Your new role
As a Senior Building Control Officer, you will be responsible for the commercial and residential buildings and will ensure that Building Regulations and associated legislation's have been adhered to. You will be carrying detailed and accurate site inspections, checking Building Regulations plans applications ensuring that they have met compliance and surveying dangerous structures when required. You will be assisting with the management of the team, providing advice to lower levels when required and will be deputising the team leader.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need extensive experience in building control and will ideally of worked in a Local Authority environment. Whilst this is not essential, you will ideally be a member in RICS, CABE or CIOB or hold a relevant industry qualification.

You will receive a very competitive daily rate. Remote working will also be supported, however, you will have the option to work at the council office if required.
