Surveying Manager (General Fund)

The role

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced building professional to lead on the planned and cyclical maintenance works to our commercial property portfolio owned by Oxford City Council.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable experience in a senior leadership position and be a qualified building professional with a track record in the industry for managing change, driving improvement and setting asset management strategies as well as having programme, project and contract management experience.

The Property Services Team provides professional resources in the form of surveyors, project managers and engineers to support the day to day building maintenance activities of the Council as well as either project managing or providing technical advice and assistance on capital projects.

The team also heads up the main client function to Oxford Direct Services our main supplier of maintenance and construction works.

Reporting to the Property Service Manager as well as managing a team of technical staff, the post holder will be responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of Asset Strategy and deliver of projects from the Stock Condition Survey currently underway as well as contributing to the council meeting decarbonisation target by 2040 for our substantial portfolio of general fund properties. They will responsibility for developing investment program for commercial asset going forward and generally support the Property Service Manager with construction and property related matters.
