This leading Local Authority client is going through a period of growth and development. They are now looking to recruit a Senior Estates Surveyor to lead a team and ensure that the property assets are used efficiently, effectively, in accordance with the strategic asset management plan.
The main areas of responsibility are as follows;
- Manage and drive the improved performance of the outsourced Property Management Service providers
- Achieve the acquisition, disposal, or re-use of land and buildings, in line with the strategic asset management plan and any service department requirements, making recommendations, including formal reports at Board level where required.
- Work with service departments, partners, local authorities and other public bodies to provide alignment of strategic asset management plan with service, community and Council needs.
- Direct responsibility for managing, challenging and reporting on allocated budget lines
- Management of direct report staff in line with internal policies ensuring that effective processes are in place to drive development and performance.
- Complete such other work as may be allocated from time to time by the Head of Department.
Person Specification
- Hold a RICS accredited degree
- MRICS
- Private or Public Sector experience
- Have the ability to deal with politically sensitive issues at senior level
- The ability to integrate with multidisciplinary teams and to proactively support colleagues in achieving key tasks and team objectives
- Manage projects from inception to completion
- Proven experience in maximising opportunities for improved property and asset enhancement whilst understanding the role of the Council
- The motivation to meet agreed targets and deadlines
- Previous team performance management experience
