Quantity Surveyor £40,000-£42,000 p/a + benefits
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well established business in the heart of Southampton. They have progressively grown over the last few years and have a massive turnover and profit margin in spite of Covid-19. They have an influx of new jobs coming up in the new year, so now require a quantity surveyor to join their team. They have excellent staff retention and their reputation within the market is one of the best around. They highly value their staff and training regimes in order to give you the best career path possible within their business. They operate within the Hampshire area on projects such as social housing, residential and care homes. They specialise in refurbs, painting and internals on these projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business who are well established and can offer sustainability moving forward. Last year's turnover was in the high millions just under treble figure numbers showing just how profitable this business is.
You will be employed as a quantity surveyor working full time, 5 days a week. Your day to day duties include: measure and prepare cost estimates, manage pricing of tenders, build strong client relations, budgeting, forecasting, take off's, variations, prepare cost value reconciliations on contracts, reports and monthly contract valuations. This will be based in their painting division arm of the business.
You must have a qualification or relevant degree in surveying, and you just have experience within surveying in the construction sector. Having experience in maintenance and internal projects desired but not essential. Must be proactive, self sufficient, fit the family run business culture and work well in a fast and adapting environment. You must have a keen eye for detail, be analytical and be very organised. Must have experience in liaising with clients and stake holders, and take ownership of the projects from start to finish.
