Property Surveyor

The Industrial Dwellings Society (IDS) was one of the very first Housing Associations established in 1885 by a group of philanthropists whose ambition was to tackle extreme housing conditions in London’s East End. Now with 1400 homes mainly across London, we have stuck faithfully to this mission but moved with the times, housing London’s diverse communities within the framework of our Jewish heritage. Still ambitious, we’ve set our goal to be ‘best in class’ and have exciting plans to develop 500 new homes over the next few years.

Following a review of our property services operations, we are now recruiting to fill two brand new roles - Head of Responsive Repairs and Property Surveyor. The successful candidates will be pivotal in developing our repairs service - which is a key determinant of great tenant satisfaction rates - and will be responsible for looking after some amazing heritage properties as well as new homes coming on stream.

Property Surveyor, £32,500

You will support the Head of Responsive Repairs by carrying out property inspections across our stock and support the day to day repairs service. You will ensure health and safety standards are consistently maintained, our tenants are satisfied with the service they receive and that complaints are dealt with courteously and effectively. Working closely with our contractors, you will be at the front line of delivering quality assurance and cost control.  Above all, you will have an inbuilt drive for continuous service improvement.
