Lead Chartered Building Surveyor for a long term contract based in Birmingham

This company are an established Building Services Consultancy specialising in the surveying and design of Building Services projects. Based in Birmingham, they provide a comprehensive range of services to the public sector, nationwide but predominately in the West Midlands

Your new role

The role of the chartered building surveyor is to head up a small team of commercial building condition surveyors for 50% of the time , work on the quality assurance for the reports for the team, and then for the other half, be operational as a Chartered Building Surveyor, this role will require you to be both office and site based and you will be involved in all aspects of Building Condition Surveys for of all aspects of the building which could be schools, offices, retail, public buildings including libraries, swimming pools etc.

You will be identifying repairs (and costs), looking at the liabilities of the building and also producing detailed asset and repair data to ensure the effective execution of planned, reactive and repair works.

Furthermore, the role will require you to be involved in Legislative surveys, Asset Condition Surveys (all Assets) and Closure Risk Assessments.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be a RICS chartered building surveyor, who is able to set the standard for the service delivery for the team. Be analytical and able to be oversee the QA function for the team. You will also enjoy the day to day surveying and keeping yourself involved technically.

What you'll get in return

The role is initially for a 6-12 month period, but there is the potential for a full time permanent role after the initial period. You will be involved in setting up the delivery team alongside the Director for a large new contract win. There is an attractive day rate available for the right person.
