Your new company

I am currently working with a Tier 1 Main contractor who are looking to expand their highly successful and dynamic commercial team with a Quantity Surveyor.

Operating as the UK's leading highways service provider, my client focuses on delivering an incredibly diverse range of road, bridge and tunnel projects from the planning and programming stage through to delivery, maintenance and operation. Working with a wide range of partners such as Local Authorities and Highways England to improve the quality and safety of UK roads, my client is now considered the No.1 Highways and Tunnel maintenance team across the country delivering over £1 billion of social value by maintaining 31,000km of roads used by 6 million people in their everyday life

Your new role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing Birmingham Highways ISC
  • Maintenance of all highways related services and infrastructure under Birmingham City Council
  • Production and issue of scheme tender documentation
  • Conducting reviews of responses
  • Challenging submissions then providing recommendations
  • Ensuring the commitment to delivery of the schemes
  • Ensure all subcontract task orders are issued on time and in detail to minimise risks and disputes
  • Month-End Reports


What you'll need to succeed

In order for you to succeed, you will need to demonstrate the below competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of NEC Contracts (Ideally NEC4 Term Service Subcontract)
  • Experience with production of contract correspondence
  • Proven experience of managing and delivering Highways related schemes
  • Understanding of Principal Contractor responsibilities
  • Understanding of various forms of methods of measurement (Highways related)


What you'll get in return


The successful candidate will receive a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on your experience. Furthermore, you will receive a generous package which includes 7.5% Pension, 26 days annual leave (Buy or Sell Holiday available) and free life assurance.
