QS role with established specialist subcontractor

Your new company
Based in Plymouth, the company has been established over 15 years providing specialist subcontract services to building contractors and housing developers across the south west. Projects include schools, offices, apartment blocks, volume housing sites as well as individual high-end residential builds. The organisation has developed a strong reputation for quality of workmanship as well as a high level of customer service.

Your new role
As a result of increasing workload, our client is looking to appoint a skilled estimator/quantity surveyor who can commercially manage projects from initial survey/quotation stage through to final account. Duties include assessing the commercial risks/opportunities of tender enquiries, producing bids, attending pre-contract interviews, negotiation, preparing financial submissions and producing final accounts.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to have a proven track record working in construction with either main contractors or subcontractors, be highly commercially astute with the ability to maximise profit in an ethical manner on any particular contract, be self-motivated and ideally come from a relevant tertiary educational background.
