Your new company is a multi-disciplinary firm of construction specialists with an outstanding track record in the education sector across Surrey and West London.

The business is Surrey based with good access to London via road (just off the M25 & A3) and with great rail connections as well, which is where a good proportion of their work is located.

A business with several decades of growth and success, this practice is looking for competent and responsible building surveyors who can provide important support to the company and enable continued business growth.

Your new role
Your new role will be a professional, client facing role, providing technical services to representatives from local schools and academies, colleges, local authorities and ecclesiastical bodies.

You will provide technical services throughout a range of projects, predominantly across the education sector, which will involve major refurbishments, installations and replacements, repairs and extensions, as well as some new build work.

You will be responsible for delivering various projects (as above) leading a design throughout the process on projects from £500K to £5m

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a chartered surveyor, preferably gaining qualification to the RICS through the Building Surveying route although full members or fellows of the CIOB will also be considered.

Essential prior experience includes surveys and defect diagnosis, specification writing, contract administration, CDM and project management of refurbishment, extensions and upgrades within the education sector, as well as a strong understanding of bidding process for education tenders.

As you will be managing major schemes, evidence of leading projects of up to £5m will be key.

Ideally you will have experience working as a building surveyor in a consultancy environment, and will be able to work independently, communicating confidently with consultants, contractors, projects stakeholders and more.

Location is one of several priorities for this position, and you will preferably live within an hour's commute by car to the office which is located within 15 minutes of Woking.

A fully valid UK driver's license is essential for this position as projects will be located throughout Surrey and into South West and West London.
