Interim Estates Compliance Advisor, 6-month contract, London, Major Transport & Infrastructure company

This is a brand-new interim position hot off the press for an experienced estates and compliance advisory who has a background in building control, property compliance & health & safety.

Your new company

This is an exciting new interim / temp job opportunity to join a major transport & infrastructure company based in central London who are seeking to develop and improve their central estates department. The post holder will be reporting directly into the Director of Safety & Compliance with the main responsibility to provide prompt and appropriate first line advice and guidance on queries relating to property compliance, property safety and regulatory issues affecting the built environment and services raised by internal and external stakeholders and enforcement agencies.

Your new role

Interim Estates Compliance Advisor - 6 Month Contract

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows;

  • To provide first line advice and guidance on all the Estates Compliance issues which includes building control, environmental safety, fire safety, risk assessments and develop control measures all related to the built environment.
  • Significantly contribute to the review, updating and development of Primary Authority Assured Processes, including preparation of amendments and take account of changes to legislation and business requirements.
  • Conduct planned periodic site-based inspections and Tier One Audits then reporting back to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain statutory compliance databases and records.


The post holder will also have key interactions with the following;

  • The Estates Compliance Team, the Infrastructure team, the Projects team, the Operational Performance team, the Facilities Support Manager and the Admin Support Manager.
  • Regular interaction with 3rd party Suppliers, enforcement agencies and emergency response services.
  • Regular interaction with Estates Management personnel


What you'll need to succeed

  • Good understanding of Building Control Regulations - fire, safety and property compliance challenges (essential)
  • NEBOSH Certificate (ideal) or willingness to undertake (essential)
  • Knowledge of compliance management systems such as SFG20, ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001(desirable)
  • Membership of a recognised professional safety body (IOSH / MIIRSM) (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Facilities Management discipline (desirable) &Knowledge of Project Management discipline (desirable)


The post holder will also require operational experience of emergency management, experience of developing and maintaining accurate information. Experience of working on your own initiative in an environment delivering a high level of service to both internal and external customers. Experience of the Facilities Management discipline and be a highly motivated, professional with Safety, Fire Management and Property Compliance experience.
