Summary of the Role

An enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual is required to assist the Managing Director with the ongoing development function with view to taking on the leadership of the development aspect of the portfolio in time.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in commercial mixed-use development and be a qualified Chartered Surveyor with several years post-qualification experience. The purpose of the role is to lead the efficient development of suitable opportunities and to assist with the creation of long-term investments providing a sustainable return on capital.

To work in and contribute to a high-performance team culture drawing together both internal and external skills and ensuring teams operate in an effective, cross-functional, collaborative and proactive manner to achieve outcomes that meet or exceed the business goals.


Purpose of Role

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Managing Director and Commercial Director in respect of the company's ongoing commercial development programme. The successful applicant will be responsible for the full development process from inception to completion including both acquisition through to final delivery and completion.

In conjunction with the Managing Director and Commercial Director identifying, seeking and negotiating new commercial, mixed use and residential development opportunities both for immediate and longer-term development in accordance with the agreed requirement strategy.

In considering this, detailed information will be obtained in respect of planning, financial appraisals and other relevant matters.

The successful applicant shall undertake the following aspects amongst others:

1. Site Identification

6. Lettings/Marketing

The Candidate

    Ideally educated to degree standard and with strong skills in numeracy and written EnglishSignificant background in property development and/or relevant professional qualification (RICS or equivalent)Well organised with ability to work on own initiative and to realistic deadlinesDemonstrate enthusiasm for the role, with a desire to make a broader contributionStrong communicator, with confidence and tact in dealing with tenants, consultants, contractors, colleagues and wider staffA good eye for detail and presentationA willingness to develop new skillsThe ability to work independently in a professional business environmentA commercial attitude to business and time managementIn undertaking the role and its responsibilities a pre-emptive, proactive attitude is needed at all times, together with a "can do" attitude.Previous experience of relevant IT systems is considered importantUK Driving licence
