Fire Officer - NHS Capital Projects & Property
INTERIM ROLE FOR A FIRE OFFICER TO PROVIDE EXPERTISE TO NHS ESTATES INCLUDING CAPITAL PROJECTS AND WORKS
Your new company
As a Fire Officer you will work work an NHS Trust located in the South West of England. As a result of central government funding and current pipeline of capital project works the trust has identified an urgent requirement for a Fire Officer. You will join an estates team reporting directly to the Head of Estates and working closely with the capital projects and operational maintenance teams.
Your new role
As a Fire Officer you will become the fire specialist within a busy NHS estates team. This will involve provision of technical advice to the trust and to external contractors specifically around fire policy and health & safety measures - both in terms of how work is undertaken and also around the specification of works. You will immediately assist with two tower block projects, producing risk assessments and dealing with any complex issues which arise.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in your new role you'll need to have a background and prior experience in dealing specifically with fire related policy, procedure and advice within commercial property, and specifically within live or operational environments. You'll ideally have a fire or engineering related qualification to degree level, and have professional membership with IFE or IFPO bodies.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive an contract with duration of initially 6-9 months, with a likely extension and potential permanent role should you wish to explore after the interim period. The permanent position will pay at an AFC Band 8A, with a flexible daily rate of pay offered initially.
