Graduate Architectural Technologist

Architectural Technologist / Glasgow / Up to £22,000 / Graduate


Hays are working exclusively with a small architectural practice in the south side. With strong workload and a new large project just agreed (with other projects in the pipeline at tender stage) the firm is looking for an ambitious Graduate level Architectural Technologist to join their team.

They have a fantastic project set aside for you to work on. A new flatted development in a very desirable area of Glasgow.
In this role you will report directly to, and work with the owner of the business. In this role you will be responsible at the early stages of the design process, preparation of feasibility studies, concept planning and consultant engagement alongside dealing with any technical site/building issues. A truly brilliant role for a technician who wants a more design focused position, where they can get to work on their own projects, and run with them from from a very early stage.

What you need for the role:

• Educated to Degree level in Architectural Technology
• You do not need to have experience in practice, but in order to reach the higher salary band, it would be expected that you perhaps worked in practice for a year or so.
• You do need to be flexible with software
• Residential Experience or feels comfortable with the challenge associated with these projects
• Have a sound understand of technical detailing, planning applications and building warrants.
• To be comfortable working in what would be quite a technical role.
• Can take responsibility for attaining a building warrant.
• Can work in a small team
• Be a good communicator
• Be able to work work to instruction and deadlines
• Be able to show initiative in the role
• You must have a Driving License, and preferably have access to your own car for site visits.
