Your new company is a privately owned Construction & Property LLP with offices in London, Guildford and Bristol.

RICS regulated and ISO 9001 accredited (amongst other certification) this partnership prides themselves on their high standards and quality service, an ethos which has benefited them through repeat business and referrals creating a strong and reliable client base.

Though the business provides a range of services across their three offices; such as cost consultancy, project management and specialist advice across multiple sectors (heritage, commercial, retail, leisure, ecclesiastical and more) the Surrey office specifically focus on building surveying for education clients across the area.

Your new role
Your focus in this role will be working as a building surveyor, focusing specifically on school and college buildings and estates throughout Surrey and surrounding counties including Greater London.

You will undertake a range of instructions and provide expert advice to clients from technical matters to project management with specific services as follows:

  • Schedules of Condition
  • planned preventative maintenance
  • Contract Administration and Cost Management
  • Defect analysis, specification and managing remedial works
  • Involvement in Bid Management, specifically Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bids


What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will need to have carried out the work detailed above and ideally have recent experience managing CIF bid process.

You will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in building surveying, preferably within a construction & property consultancy environment and for commercial rather than domestic clients.

A bachelors degree in Building Surveying or Building Studies is ideal, although equivalent qualifications in relevant fields could will be considered, but degree level education is essential for the position.

You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong time management / organisational skills and a professional demeanour, as clear, concise and professional communication with non technical stakeholders is a key party of maintaining strong client relationships.

You will also require a fully valid UK driver's license and access to a vehicle as regular travel to various sites will be required.

What you'll get in return
In return for your commitment and work you will receive an annual salary benchmarked at £50,000.00 , although there could be flexibility on this depending on relevance of experience and your capabilities. In addition, an annual car allowance in the region of £4,000.00 will be provided.

The partnership feel strongly about supporting employees and their families and therefore will provide you with a life assurance policy at 3 x annual salary.

Your annual leave will be a standard 26 days per annum with bank holidays in addition, this allowance will increase by one day a year with each year of service.

The partnership will automatically enrol you on a private company pension scheme and provide discretionary annual performance related bonus to those who meet the threshold.
