Your new company
This consultancy has been established for over 5 decades and operate across multiple offices within the UK. They partner with the public sector within social housing, education, central and local government as well as within the private sector. Projects range from new build, refurbishment and maintenance programmes.

As part of continued growth and recent project wins, they are now looking for a Graduate Building Surveyor along with other recruits to join their team in South London.

This company are not unique in what they do, but they give their staff the autonomy to work and the tools with systems, flexible working arrangements, and access to experienced leaders to do their job. There is clear progression for any level of staff to attain Partner or more Senior level through subsidised further education, professional training and the Partners have significant success of getting their staff through APC and becoming Chartered.

Flexible working arrangements are also promoted within the business, working from home and working from other offices are all encouraged, as long as the work is done. Especially in the current climate where social distancing can be difficult to maintain an office environment.

Your new role
In the role of the Building Surveyor, you will be performing the following duties; surveys, appraisals, preparation and management of projects, schedules of condition and dilapidations, maintenance plans, investigation of defects and other matters related to the project and review operations arising from the acquisition, occupation, alteration and development of the buildings. Preparation of AutoCAD drawings, handle tasks delegated by the department to maintain/improve/develop professional standards. Report, in conjunction with qualified staff, to clients to ensure they're fully updated at each stage. Continue private study to support day to day work and geared to qualification as full member of RICS.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following qualifications, skills and experience; a degree in Building Surveying (accredited by RICS), some experience in housing, leisure and education sectors of the construction industry, computer literate; the ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels, attention to detail and a methodical approach to work and ability to negotiate and manage Client expectations.

What you'll get in return
As part of the package for this role, you can expect a salary of up to £28k along with a 25 days holiday + bank holidays which goes up after 2+ years' service, professional fees paid for, pension options. Flexible working arrangements and the ability to work from home is also available.
