Senior Programme Officer – Building Safety

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Programme Officer – Building Safety to join a brand new team, in the GLA’s Housing & Land directorate.

The Building Safety team’s job will be to help us improve the safety of London’s homes. The Private Sector Cladding Remediation Fund (PSCRF) is designed to ensure high-rise buildings in London, with certain types of unsafe cladding, are made safe as quickly as possible. Delivering this fund is a high profile and urgent task which is central to achieving the Mayor’s vision that all Londoners should benefit from a safe, good quality home.

This newly created role will lead on ensuring a portfolio of London buildings access funding in order to remove unsafe cladding as quickly as possible. This will involve managing complex relationships with building owners, technical advisers and London boroughs, and leading all aspects of the application, assessment, approval, grant payment and monitoring for the PSCRF.

You will be an effective and experienced project manager, with experience of managing large capital budgets and working with external professional advisers, ideally in housing or building safety fields. You will be self-motivated and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
