Senior Major Applications Planner

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Senior Major Applications Planner at a fast moving London Borough Council with an impeccable reputation for delivering high quality strategic development schemes.

You will play a key role managing a mixed caseload of PPA funded major and strategic applications in prime major growth and regeneration areas in the capital encompassing schemes that include Tall Buildings and mixed use schemes up to 200 residential units.

Moreover you'll also assist Principal Planners with complex phased strategic development projects that constitute high profile masterplans within the borough.

Duties Include;

• Manage and process a mixed caseload major and strategic planning applications consisting of residential led mixed use, new build flats, commercial / retail schemes
• Conduct site visits
• Undertake pre-application meetings and site visits
• Assist with negotiating PPA Agreements
• Address complex issues such as development viability
• Provide support to Principal Planners in relation to phased strategic developments
• Negotiate S106 agreements, discharge of conditions and finalise reserve matters.
• Attend consultation events

Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience in Development Management processing large scale major applications in urban areas at a UK local authority coupled with have an awareness key issues surrounding development viability.

Furthermore, you must have a degree in Town & Country Planning or an affiliated subject with good communication and report writing skills.
