Are you an experienced procurement quantity surveyor. The procurement team deals with everything do with cost-effective building, including quantity surveying, estimating, procurement and material buying

Nuclear fusion, the process that powers the Sun, can play a big part in our carbon-free energy future. The UK Atomic Energy Authority is the worlds` leading fusion research laboratory aiming to lead the commercial development of fusion power and related technology.

As a procurement quantity surveyor, you will be joining an inclusive and supportive environment involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from construction of office buildings to complex R&D facilities, apprentice training schools and innovation centres. Key accountabilities/responsibilities:
-A professional accreditation from the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors.
-Knowledge of CEMAR system
-Knowledge of Public Sector Procurement and compliance with OJEU
-Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
-Strong numeracy and financial management skills
-Experience of NEC form of contract

The UKAEA hosts and manages the JET nuclear fusion energy experiment on behalf of the EU and is also home to the UK`s MAST-U fusion energy experiment. UKAEA also works with industry and other third parties to develop new technologies currently in Remote Handling and Materials research. Following recent UK funding two new centres of excellence in tritium fuel handling and component testing and validation are being built. Knowledge skills and experience

Essential
-A professional accreditation from the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors.
-Knowledge of Public Sector Procurement and compliance with OJEU
-Strong numeracy and financial management skills
-Experience of NEC form of contract
-A clear understanding of Construction price and indices within the UK.

Desirable
-Knowledge of CEMAR system
-Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
-The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to
a diverse range of people
-Negotiation and team work skills
-Commercially astute and customer focused
-Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence at senior levels
-The ability to motivate and lead those on site
-Detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes,
materials, business and legal matters.
-Experience of work in Public Sector
-Possess numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role
-Passion for the construction trade and knowledge of the wider industry, keeping appraised of
industry developments

Selection Method:

Initial interviews will be held on 22.11.19 and 27.11.19

As part of the selection process you may be expected to complete work based simulation exercises and a personality profile either online or onsite.
