Planning and Development Surveyor

Heritage property development job in Yorkshire and North Region advising on historic buildings as a surveyor.

Your new role
You will work alongside a Senior Manager to provide professional development advice to local reams on aspects of planning and development, property development, investment and valuation. You will work with viability for a huge range of listed buildings, from projects on commercial high streets to castles and industrial buildings, in urban and rural environments. You will find sustainable solutions for priority sites, and advise on enabling development proposals, occasionally acting as expert witness where required.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have commercial property development experience, gained ideally at a property company or similar. Experience with heritage property would be beneficial also. Knowledge of planning legislation and policy, compulsory purchase, private and public sectors, as well as development appraisal software such as ARGUS or CIRCLE would be very useful in this role. You will be innovative and creative in finding solutions, and take a diplomatic approach to unlock disputes which may arise as part of the development process.
