Barking Riverside London is a joint venture between the Mayor of London and L&Q to deliver a quality led new riverfront town in East London comprising of 10,800 homes, a new rail station, new schools and commercial and cultural offerings along 2km of south-facing Thames river frontage. As one of the largest developments in the UK, this ambitious project is gaining momentum with a programme committed to facilitating delivery of up to 600 new homes a year for the next 15 years. As Master Developer Barking Riverside is responsible for taking forward and coordinating all aspects of the design and development process as well as implementing the infrastructure works to transform the former power station site into a high-quality development and help build a thriving, healthy community.

In this exciting role as Senior Operational Manager - Estates you will be based onsite reporting into the Estates director and be responsible for:

  • The delivery of a high-quality estate management service through the management of contracts, contractors and staff as well as assisting and supporting the Estates Director to implement and develop future estate management strategy for Barking Riverside.

  • Day to day working with manging agents to provide to residents and commercial occupiers prudent, transparent and best value service charge budgets.

  • Liaising effectively with contractors, residents and our own technical and administrative staff. Your networking will be exceptional as will your relationship management skills. Organisation and time keeping is key for this role, you will need to be able to work within tight time restraints whilst maintaining well-ordered professional records

Key requirements:

Experience in property or estate management

Superb communication skills with a proven ability of working with a variety of highly diverse stakeholders

The ability to present information to a diverse audience and to chair difficult meetings

Computer literate and be able to create, manage and produce reports from spreadsheets and input and retrieve data from computer management systems.

A customer serviced focused approach, an innovative in your thinking and experienced in problem solving to help us deliver our ambitious development plans.

Experience in service charge and statutory requirements

Experiencing in managing contractors and consultants

Experience in mobilising or handover of estate or buildings

A proven record in budget management

A full driving license.

Ideally a Professional Management Qualification - RICS or IRPM
