Your new company
A higher education institution, based in Nottinghamshire, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Building Services Engineer for a fixed term contract. This company are one of the top ranked educational institutions in the midlands, and have beautiful main campus alongside other assets across the Nottinghamshire area.
Your new role
You will manage the planned and reactive maintenance of this institutions key mechanical services. You will be be responsible for mechanical asset compliance meaning you will manage; condition surveys, the development of replacement plans, and small to medium sized asset replacement projects.
You will be the technical lead for mechanical services, advising and developing statutory risk based maintenance regimes. This will include assistance with the development of a 10 year key asset replacement plan. You will aid in the preparation of maintenance standards, procedures and specifications, and will prepare tender documentation against these standards.
You will plan, implement and manage all aspects of delegated mechanical maintenance and statutory compliance. You will be responsible for selecting and managing key service providers and monitoring suppliers, ensuring both skills and safety needs are met.
Yo will liaise with end user departments, and will be required to manage site works regularly checking standards and value for money.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have a HNC / HND in Mechanical Services Engineering and must have experience within a similar role, preferably within the higher education, public, or healthcare sectors.
You must have a proven track record of having detailed knowledge of mechanical services. You must also be able to to work to set programmes and deadlines whilst being able to remain calm under pressure.
You must have an eye for details and the ability to communicate fluently and work well as part of a team, with a willingness to undertake training to adopt new procedures being desirable.
