Project Design Manager - £65,000 - Central London


Our client is an expanding Residential Developer with projects across London from High end Homes to Residential high-rise £5M to £25M.
Based from the Central London office, covering multiple projects in London, and the home counties. They are going through a period of steady expansion and need to add to their Projects management team. Ideally you will have a Degree in Engineering Design/Architecture with around 7 years' experience including managing/overseeing the design function for main contractor/developer. You will be visiting sites monitoring, coordinating and liaising with contractor and specialist subcontractors to ensure the projects is being delivered in line with the design. Reviewing and updating drawings as required, dispute resolution and risk avoidance, keeping the projects in line with the programs.

You will be familiar with operating on projects in London and the South-East, and with the following proven experiences and abilities:
o Ideally recent experienced in medium to large scale JCT design and build contracts.
o Experience in the in pre-contract process as well as post contract as you may be attending at post tender interviews as well as 'live' projects.
o Commercially aware, with ability to putting forward alternative design solutions that aid profitability as well as amending existing designs on the job.
o Experience in the design responsibility matrices, deliverables schedules, design programmes, interface and overall project risk appraisal and management is an advantage.
o Important to demonstrate an understanding of design meetings.
o Ability to produce & present concise & accurate contract reports.
o Ability to co-ordinate design consultants' and specialist subcontractors' design outputs, reviews and comments and to efficiently manage the dissemination of completed design information to all who require it.
o Risk management skills in respect to design shortfall, interfaces, design programme, clash avoidance and the like. Effectively identifying, scheduling and managing out risks.
