Senior Project Manager

King’s College London is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to join its Real Estate Development Team.

King's College London is one of the top 10 UK universities in the world (2018-19 QS World University Rankings) and among the oldest in England.  Since its foundation in 1829 King’s has defined itself in terms of its service to society, and it now has some 30,000 students and more than 8,000 staff members. King’s Strategic Vision 2029, a strategy which will take the university to its 200th birthday, has pledged that its staff and students will continue to help make the world a better place.

King’s has five campuses in central London consisting of more than 100 buildings ranging in age from the 1780s to new state of the art buildings.  The diverse estate portfolio includes the historic Strand Campus (encompassing the East Wing of Somerset House and the Bush House portfolio), world-leading research and teaching facilities at the Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Denmark Hill campuses and modern teaching, residential and commercial accommodation at Waterloo.

Reporting to the Associate Director Real Estate Development, the Senior Project Manager will develop, procure and deliver a broad range of estate projects and development schemes valued up to and in excess of £50m across a diverse estate portfolio including research and teaching facilities, student residences, social and hospitality space, commercial property and historic buildings. Projects are varied and will include but are not limited to new build, refurbishment, adaptation and fit-out. You will work within a high calibre client-side development team responsible for delivering over £100m of investment every year.

The successful candidate will possess relevant experience in a senior project leadership role with responsibility for procuring and managing complex construction and property projects of significant scale.  You will have strong commercial management skills, with the proven track record of managing project budgets and leading on contract procurement and management of external consultants and contractors.  You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the drive, credibility and authority to lead and manage stakeholder groups, project teams and internal team members.

This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious projects professionals to take personal responsibility for the leadership of high-profile and complex development schemes across a mixed-use Central London property portfolio.  The Candidate Brochure can be viewed at https://online.flippingbook.com/view/793654/
