Your new role
Your new role as building surveyor will involve surveying and project managing planned works on behalf of local authority and public sector clients, covering social housing, commercial buildings and schools, managing refurbishments, repairs, maintenance & decorations.

You will be responsible for carrying out property inspections, creating work specifications and managing the tender process. You will also manage contract administration on each job, ensuring contractors and sub contractors are completing works to standards required.


What you'll need to succeed
Your success in this role will largely depend on your attitude towards your work. You will need to be meticulous and detail oriented as well as committed to providing the best possible service to your clients.

You will need to hold a degree in Building Surveying or a closely related RICS accredited qualification and you must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor. (this is not a graduate role).

Consultancy experience is essential for this role as you will need experience in liaising with clients who aren't from property backgrounds and require sound confident advice and regular communication so that expectations are managed effectively.

What you'll get in return
In return for your commitment to this role you will receive an excellent package that includes a salary above market average and benefits that not many businesses can compete with.

Your starting salary will be £42-£47K per annum and you will receive an additional £3K as a car allowance. You will also be auto-enrolled onto the company pension scheme which consists of a 3% employee and 5% employer contribution.

You will receive 3 more holiday days than the average business offers at 28 days, three of which will be taken at Christmas when the office is closed. The standard 8 annual bank holidays are offered in addition to this.

You will be set up with Private Medical Cover as well as a 3 X annual salary life assurance policy on successful completion of your probation period (at 6 months).

You will receive an excellent level of support from two senior partners with over 50 years of combined industry experience. Whether you're chartered or not they will look to develop you as an employee through regular CPD events, as well as impart any knowledge or wisdom they can offer of their own. They are keen to see their staff succeed and the support is there if you are looking to take your APC and become chartered.
