Building Surveyor

The role is to manage a portfolio of properties, including the project management of repair, maintenance and improvement works. They will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring all works are tendered correctly, commissioning contractors, managing the projects and ensuring they come in on time and to budget. We would be looking for an HNC/HND level qualification in Construction (or a related discipline) as a minimum, and previously Local Authority experience would be useful (but not essential).


Salary range of £29,636 to £31,371

Main Responsibilities as set out by the client


To manage a set portfolio of property which will change from time-to-time ensuring that it complies with all statutory requirements including Health and Safety, Inspections and the requirements of the Construction Design and Management Regulations


Project Management from inception to completion of capital, repair, maintenance and improvement works in accordance with all statutory requirements. This will include issuing instructions, commissioning suppliers (contractors, designers and specialists) and managing the delivery of feasibility studies and options studies.


Development and costing of Forward Maintenance Registers for the portfolio for which they are responsible.


Provide professional and technical support to other members of the team when requested.


To manage the property portfolio and projects within agreed budgets - providing regular feedback and preparing reports as required.


To provide such information as may be required by the public or external organisations with regard to land, buildings and utilities within the property portfolio.
