Fire Investigation Consultant

BRE is offering a unique opportunity to join the Fire Investigation Team, to contribute to the valuable and important work it is commissioned to undertake.  We need two individuals, keen on working positively with our clients to bring about positive change to the built environment, with regard to fire safety.
 
One day you may be investigating a fire, specifically to help a client understand how and why it spread.  The next, you may be assisting regulators interrogate evidence from a fire incident, so that lessons might be learnt - this can contribute to and influence future guidance to the Building Regulations.  On another day, you may undertake individual or collaborative research and report back and/or give evidence as an expert witness.   

We are looking for individuals with a background in Building Control Surveying or Construction Design Management.  You will have built up extensive experience in appraising design drawings and troubleshooting details on site to comply with the relevant Building Regulations.  Ideally, you will have some experience of undertaking work as an expert witness, and creating detailed reports with recommendations.  You will have a collaborative style, enabling you to work alongside and develop excellent relationships with customers and colleagues.
