MEP Design Manager - Building Services

Your new company
Hays have been retained by one of Northern Ireland's leading M&E Building Services Contractors to recruit an M&E Design Manager based in Newtownabbey.

Your new role
As the M&E Design Manager your duties will include but will not be limited to:

• Liaising with Contracts Managers and design teams to provide efficient and economical design solutions
• Development of installation and co-ordination drawings throughout the contract process
• Managing external consultants, main contractors and clients to develop MEP designs within budget and on time
• Verification of external consultants' designs
• Verification of external consultants' design data including review of design calculations, drawings and Revit models
• Development of concept designs and management of the entire design process through to project completion
• Producing technical M&E drawings to the required standards
• Attendance of client and design team meetings
• Management of the production, issuing and logging of technical submittals and associated responses
• Management of the Document Controller and ensure up to date information is being logged and issued to relevant people in a timely fashion
• Development of new and existing business opportunities

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered candidates must be able to demonstrate expertise within BIM and Revit MEP, gained working within the UK building services industry for either a consultancy or contractor as a BIM Manager or lead Revit MEP technician. You will ideally be educated to HNC level or above in a mechanical/electrical discipline, experience of delivering BIM Level 2 projects would be desirable.
