Interim Head of PMO - Construction

Your new company
On behalf of our client, Hays Property & Surveying are currently recruiting for an Interim Head of PMO overseeing a broad range of capital programmes across a broad central London estate. Our client is a public sector organization and currently at the beginning of a major programme of works, therefore needing to take on additional resources to meet their needs. This role is based in Central London.

Your new role
As the Interim Head of PMO, you will be responsible for offering support and enabling successful delivery of estates projects and programmes across the Estate. You will provide integrated scheduling, management of interdependencies, resource management, portfolio analysis and reporting, plus other assurance and audit controls to enable successful project delivery. You will manage, co-ordinate and control individual programme elements including project timeframes, cost and specifications; you will ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage the programme effectively and to inform decision making at the highest levels of the organization. You will provide assurance for the programme and develop programme PMO methodologies. Finally, you will be responsible for managing a small team, as well as requiring strong internal relationships with the finance, IT, QS and contracts teams respectively.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate, you will have relevant PMO management experience, preferably in a complex construction environment. You will have a proven successful track record of creating new PMO functions for existing programmes, while being able to dynamically manage competing demands. You will also have experience in building and leading successful teams. You will be qualified in programme or project management disciplines such as PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent. Although not required, preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with RIBA stages or other construction related disciplines, as well as membership of a relevant professional body (Programme Management, CIOB, RICS etc.)
