Job Details

Your new company
On behalf of our client, a higher education institution in London, Hays Property & Surveying are currently seeking a Minor Works Project Manager to take on a 3-month contract on their Central London Estate. My client has a team of PM's and Surveyors responsible for estates, capital works and minor works.

Your new role
As the Minor Works Project Manager, you will be responsible for minor works up to the value of £250,000, managing a portfolio of varied and in-depth projects across the estate. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work both individually or as part of a team to undertake inspections, provide design specifications and technical advice and support stakeholders with the delivery of construction contracts on a wide range of products. As the Project Manager, you will be based in London, but required to travel when required to attend sites (around Zone 1 and 2). You will be responsible for providing project management related advice and technical input including design and tender drawings to support minor works and some refurbishment schemes.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful Project Manager, you will either have current MRICS / MCIOB status with appropriate post-qualification experience (5+ years) OR the equivalent related experience. You will have experience managing small scale / minor works projects from inception through to completion and handover. You will have a proven track record of the provision of design and specifications at all stages of a construction project and finally you will have strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC3 contracts.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered a position with one of London's leading higher education institutions amongst a dynamic and collaborative team. You will be given autonomy to work on your projects with minimal oversight and the estate will defer to your experience and track record to deliver the projects on time, on budget and on specification.
