Construction Quantity Surveyor

Your new company
My client is a not-for-profit economic development company working on a 10-year investment programme in East Sussex, the objective is to bring investment and create 6,000 new jobs for the local community by developing major business parks, town centres and offsite infrastructure this brilliant opportunity is open to an individual who has long term career ambitions to take part in a huge development programme.

Covering the areas of Bexhill, Hastings and Eastbourne you will oversee sites covering an area of over 1 million square feet. Highway infrastructure, Business parks and office blocks, with investment already flowing into the area they have a predicted economic boost of £1 Billion over the coming decade this is your chance to mark your career through this truly exciting time.


Your new role
Your role will include making cost estimates, checking measurements, prepare bills of quantities, tender packages, as well as the preparation of accounts and financial forecasts other duties of the role will include:

  • Project reports
  • Project management
  • Report on Risk management
  • Development of contingency plans
  • Appointing external consultants and contractors
  • Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
  • Creating risk assessments, ensuring all H&S is met to industry standard
    • Tendering, cost breakdowns and negotiate contract bills


This progressive role will also include duties of an employer's agent and contract administration, alongside this you will also be working alongside estates managers and facilities managers, assisting them whilst they prepare documentation for investment sales of developed property.




What you'll need to succeed

You will require a diligent and focused mind, along with obviously significant experience in a similar role or in a comparable environment. You should have experience handling big projects with multi-million-pound contracts. You should be proactive in your approach with attention to detail and be ready to help nurture and develop existing contracts and clients. desired experience below:

  • 5 years Quantity surveying / Project management
  • MRICS Accredited
  • Construction related degree
  • Commercial Quantity surveying background
