Your new company
You will be working for an established main contractor in the Derbyshire area who have a major focus on the public sector works. The company have a strong pipeline of projects across multiple disciplines and have continued to foster positive relationships with key clients to ensure an excellent commercial performance. Due to the continued increase in workload an opportunity now exists for an Assistant Estimator to join the organisation on a permanent basis.


Your new role
You will be working as part of an Estimating department that currently has around 10 members of staff underpinning all areas of the business. You will be working alongside a Senior Estimator on framework projects with values ranging between £500k and £2m. The works will be predominantly in the Education and Healthcare sectors. You will be responsible for compiling estimates looking at cost and creating budgets. You will also be analysing labour, plant and material costs and subcontractor quotes. You will be able to compile bills of quantities and complete take offs and measurements.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have between 2 and 4 years of construction industry experience as a Junior, Assistant or Intermediate Estimator. A background of working for a main contractor is preferred however small works knowledge and individual skill sets will be considered. An academic qualification in the commercial field of construction would also be beneficial.
