To help deliver this ambition the Estates team need to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor.


Your New Role
You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all University buildings, ensuring they are always maintained to the highest possible standards. This incorporates undertaking technical inspections and condition surveys, managing minor work projects, contractors and the in-house team ensuring work is delivered in compliance with legislative requirements, relevant service specifications and key performance indicators.

The role holder will be required to travel between university sites (Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury) on occasions, however the position will predominantly be based at the Stoke campus.


Experience Required
In order to be considered for the role, you must have proven experience in managing and delivering complex building and maintenance projects on time and to budget, ideally within the Higher Education setting. You must also be educated to HNC or equivalent in a Building Surveying / Maintenance related discipline as well as having a professional qualification leading to membership of a relevant body e.g. RICS, CIOB etc. It is also essential that candidates are proficient in AutoCAD & Revit.


About You
You will have good IT skills, including the use of surveying software, CAFM system and Microsoft Project. Ability to produce technical CAD drawings and the ability to maintain clear and accurate records with attention to detail. You will be able to present excellent interpersonal, influencing, team building and communication skills and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the University's strategic plan and a commitment to the University values.
