Senior Architectural Technician/Technical Manager

Architectural Technician, Housing developers, £35-50k depending on the experience


Your new company
Based out of the Thames Ditton office, the technical team consists of a technical director, two coordinators and an architectural technician. Within a company of no more than 30 employees. They have their own land, sales, planning/feasibility, commercial, construction, customer care and technical departments. They have roughly 6 sites running at any one time, all run by an in house site manager.

Your new role
As a Senior or Mid-level Architectural Technician, you'll be supporting the site managers on a daily basis with technical aspects and drawing/design queries, the majority of your activities will be office based. You will be encouraged to visit site to attend pre-start meetings or simply to keep up with how things are progressing. They generally use the same on-site contractors, which helps a great deal with keeping up with 'how things are actually done' onsite. ‎

You'd be running your own projects, which can range from a one off house to a development of 80 or so plots - ('usually' the developments are around 10 plots - house sizes range from 1 bedroom flats to 3000sq ft plots) The project will be handed over to you after planning permission has been granted, from there you'd coordinate the technical package including civil and structural engineering, sap assessments, required surveys and soil reports etc.... All of which are completed by external consultants, architectural drawings are completed in house.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, knowledge of AutoCAD is essential. Experience of working on residential buildings is necessary as all of the projects you'll be working on are residential projects.

For your hard work you will receive a competitive salary of up to £50,000. There is 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, private healthcare and a standard pension. There is a discretionary annual bonus on offer dependent on company and individual performance.
