Logistics Manager Role - Construction - Tier 1 Contractor - Reading

Your new company
Working for a Tier 1 contractor based on site in Reading. This is great opportunity this is to work for a leading construction firm. This company is an award winning organisation with 30 years experience in their sector and are now a market leader.

Your new role

  • Updating and Monitoring the site logistics plan
  • Updating and monitoring the project set up
  • Managing the general logistics team and producing a logistics attendance matrix
  • Managing on a daily basis the coordination of site resources, plant and material requirements
  • Attending regular coordination meetings with subcontractors to discuss current issues
  • Attending interface / constraint meetings to assess and manage forthcoming logistic requirements for all parties
  • Managing and chairing delivery co-ordination meetings for delivery scheduling
  • Managing the material handling and unloading process including specialist deliveries from delivery point to the workface
  • Managing and chairing crane co-ordination meetings to assess and plan upcoming logistics needs
  • Procuring and managing site user plant and equipment for best use, including cranes, hoists and safety gates
  • Control of site storage areas and contractors office space & welfare facilities
  • Ensuring all access and egress routes are maintained and kept clear at all times, maintaining segregated pedestrian walkways and managing vehicular access / egress and movements
  • General access control, gate management and site security activities
  • Fire Coordination and evacuation exercises
  • Managing Health & Safety with other WJ Managers/Reps
  • Providing Tool Box Talks, site inductions and facilitating on-site training for operatives
  • Managing and implementing Environmental Strategy
  • Manage and develop specific Waste Management Plans


What you'll need to succeed
Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a busy construction site
  • Effective team-working skills
  • Effective communication, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective planning and organising skills.
  • Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office
