Job Details
As a consequence of a growing level of current projects, our client, a leading design & project management consultancy has a fantastic opportunity for a competent assistant building surveyor to work across a diverse range of private and affordable housing schemes across the South East.
Reporting to the Director of Building Surveying, this position expands upon their current resource albeit it remains a small & niche team within their wider business.
Based near to Kingston upon Thames, they are ideally seeking a Building Surveyor at APC level to work primarily on construction projects as opposed to delivering professional services although for purposes of remaining APC competencies, relevant assignments can be offered here.
Day to day, projects are typically residential focused ranging from student housing conversions to decent homes, office conversions to affordable residential units. Other programmes include façade upgrades or minor works and you should expect to work on a variety of different buildings, including those that are listed. You should be competent with traditional forms of contract administration.
Other person expectations include sound technical & communication skills, good level of confidence and client facing ability plus an ability to take ownership of projects.
Key requirements:
- A current APC level
- Technical degree background (Building Surveying – BSc or MSc)
- Knowledge of new build construction process and / or building refurbishment life cycle
- Must have a competent ability to use CAD
- Must have a competent ability to draw construction details
- Must be a car owner & driver
This is a progressive position as our client will nurture your development (CPD too) through to becoming an integral part of their professional services team. If you are contemplating further academic study (re: MSc) our client will financially support relevant endeavours here.
In return, our client can offer a competitive starting salary to c£35,000pa (experience dependant), 26 days holiday, Pension contributions, Professional Subscriptions.
