Assistant Contracts Manager Teesside Permanent £35-£40k + £3k Car Allowance

Your new company
We are recruiting for an Assistant Contracts Manager on a permanent basis for a Construction & Property business in Teesside. The company works largely across the care-sector, and are seeking a pro-active, commercial and professional candidate to join their team to continue their business growth plans.

Your new role
The role will be responsible for assisting in the effective commercial practices within a project, reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, duties including but not limited to:

  • Interim and Final account measurement
  • Assessing variations and compensation events submitted by sub-contractors
  • Interim payment and final account agreement of sub-contracts
  • Ensuring good quality and accurate records are kept.
  • Maintenance of cost information.
  • Verification and agreement of Accounts
  • To assist with Project Procurement
  • Liaise with Contract Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time risks.
  • Maintain site presence as required to monitor and correct where necessary the standard and methods of work being always vigilant for inadequacies. Where remedial actions are required, confirm whether non-conformance reports are raised and closed out in an auditable manner.
  • Monitor progress of the works by site visits, inspections, and progress meetings, comparing work in progress with contract documents and information given at site meetings and with the overall contract programme.
  • Develop positive relationships with contractors on a day to day basis.
  • Ideal candidate will have to demonstrate an understanding of commercial and financial matters and be knowledgeable about Construction.



What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role the suitable candidate will hold relevant construction qualifications such as: SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid.

We are also seeking a candidate from a development background, ideally with experience working within the care-sector / supported living.

A full UK driving license is also required.
