I don't get these roles very often for a practice and its shows what a great place they are in that this is now a role they are looking to recruit. Senior role to help shape the future of this practice as one of the UK's experts in chartered surveying, property planning and business advice.

The position will give the right candidate direct involvement with the Management Board, its future growth strategy and delivery. We are looking for a driven senior new business development manager with demonstrable experience of building close internal and external relationships to deliver targeted growth.

Up to 75k base for the right person + benefits

About the role

• Reporting directly to the Managing Partner with direct, regular involvement with the Management Team
• Working with the Management Team to negotiate and prioritise items, address barriers, determine new business and marketing plans, address trade-off decisions
• Working closely with the internal and external networks to deliver these plans
• Working collaboratively with key managers from all 5 regional offices
• The role will initially target the Building Consultancy, Planning Consultancy and Architectural Services areas
• To drive growth within the region framed by Manchester - Kettering - Cambridge - North M25 - Bristol - Shrewsbury.
• It is anticipated the role will require considerable time in this region, exploiting existing contacts as well as building new decision making contacts.
• New business delivery will require leading & co-ordinating tenders and bids for new business
• The Management Team are located within the Kettering and Shrewsbury offices and the successful candidate would be expected to make regular visits to both locations
• The role has 2 x Marketing Executives as direct reports

The type of Person

• We require someone with a proven track record of Business Development in the Surveying, Construction, Planning or Architectural sectors
• Highly self-motivated, driven manager capable of opening doors and building relationships
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
• Highly organised and able to manage and report a new business pipeline.
• Practical and hands-on approach to management, coupled with sound judgement, proven management skills and financial acumen
• Demonstrable line management experience - to lead and develop other managers
• Educated to degree level, or equivalent, or a recognised qualification
• Success in the role will require high levels of organisational awareness and emotional intelligence
