Painter at HMP Pentonville. £11.43 per hour

Your new company
As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit multiple qualified trades, including a painter & decorator at HMP Pentonville. This is a long term contract starting as soon as possible.

Your new role
As part of the Works/ Maintenance Department you will be responsible for the painting maintenance requirements throughout the prison. Painter Duties include:

• Internal & external painting
• General maintenance & making good
• Reactive & emergency repairs
• Planned Painting Projects throughout
• Radio handling

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have a painting qualification either NVQ or City&Guilds, experience in a similar role is essential. The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and be able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Full training on working within a prison is provided by the establishment/ department.

Security Clearance required:
All applicants will be subject to a DBS certificate which will be Hays funded as long as all information is declared prior to it being completed. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.

What you'll get in return

• Weekly pay whilst through us as agency worker until you go permanent.
• You will be single site based, so there is no travelling as part of the role.
• Monday to Friday hours - 37.5 per week minimum.
