To help deliver this ambition the Estates team need to recruit Statutory Compliance Manager. 

Your new role 
You will be responsible for ensuring the University’s compliance with all Estates related statutory requirements and provide guidance for property on all sites (Owned, or leased) including in particular The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, HSE ACoP (L8) The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems, The Electricity at Work Regulations, The Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety), etc. plus alignment with British Standards and industry best practise. 

You will be the responsible person for the day-to-day operational delivery of the Universities statutory compliance function ensuring delivery of a first-class quality and value for money support and compliance monitoring service which is customer focused delivering high quality and safe environments for students, staff and other stakeholders. 

The role holder will be required to travel between university sites (Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury) on occasions, however the position will predominantly be based at the Stoke campus.

Experience Required
You will be an experienced Compliance Manager with a degree qualification or equivalent formal professional qualification in a relevant subject, or Chartered Status within a relevant institution. You will also have an appropriate membership of a professional body as recognised and required for the post. (e.g IOSH, MIIRSM) You will have excellent practical and technical compliance knowledge and have an outstanding knowledge of data management, integrity and redundancy. You will also have experience of analysing and interpreting data to draft complex reports.

You will also be able to communicate complex information to a range of audiences and stakeholders effectively using a variety of mediums. Finally, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the University’s strategic plan and a commitment to the University values.
