Junior Quantity Surveyor

HAYS Construction are proud to be working in partnership with a highly reputable organisation to recruit a Junior Quantity Surveyor based from their office in Hull. With projects spanning multiple sectors, from retail, energy, public sector and industrial, this position is suited to an adaptable Graduate/Junior Quantity Surveyor that is keen to join a company that offer progression and opportunities in abundance.

THE ROLE:
This is a highly diverse position and comes with an ever-changing workload, however you can expect some of your key duties to include:

• Measurement and valuations of works, site based and from drawings
• Being visible and able to network across sites and throughout the projects
• Commercially astute and able to prepare financial reports, including analysis of figures, forecasting and budget management
• Maximising cashflow through the control, measurement and valuation of work
• Managing the invoicing of customers and payments to suppliers
• Effective risk management within the projects
• Customer facing, with the ability to take the lead at project meetings
• Ensure commercial contracts and arrangements are reviewed and risk assessed
• Resolution of all issues relating to financial/commercial returns on assigned contracts/projects.

What you will need to be successful in this position:

• UK full driving license, as you will be required to travel to other locations
• Experience in a similar role, either during a placement or following studies
• Preferably degree qualified or relevant demonstrable experience.
• Membership of relevant professional body (preferable).
• NEC 3 experience.
• Minor works experience
• Willing to work outside of the normal office hours.
