Relief Support Worker needed across Bristol for various supported housing providers
Your new company
You will be working for a variety of supported housing providers who supports vulnerable people with complex needs including mental health backgrounds, homelessness, young people and substance misuse to live independently. This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a variety of different service users building up your experience.
Your new role
As a relief support worker you will be working on a relief basis meaning working a number of shifts as and when required. You will be covering variety of different services across Bristol that operates 24 hours so will be offered days, weekends and waking nights. You will be working with complex case loads, providing support and engagement as and when needed. You may also be required to manage reception when needed, checking in service users and being first port of contact for tenants needs. As a support worker you will be required to go through the keywork system providing resettlement help, liaison with and referrals to appropriate agencies. As a support worker you will be engaging with service users and promoting independence within the service with the target for service users to move into their own homes within 4 weeks.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker you must have relevant experience working within mental health projects. Due to the high support needs of the service users you must be able to deal with challenging situations and be comfortable with lone work when required. As a support worker you must have a degree of flexibility, be reliable and committed. An essential requirement for this role is that you must be happy to help and engage with service users and provide help and advice in a positive manager. As a relief support worker it is required you have an enhanced DBS, or the documents for us to produce a DBS on your behalf.
