Support Worker opportunity in Bristol supporting domestic violence service users towards independence.

You will be joining a supported housing organisation who supports the local community thrive and develop towards independence.

Your new role

As a support worker you will be working on a full time temporary to permanent basis in Bristol. This is a community based role supporting service users who are escaping or recovering from domestic violence. As a support worker you will be providing service users with tenancy sustainment and housing management advice helping them gain housing but most importantly helping them sustain their houses that they occupy. This is a fantastic opportunity to support service users with backgrounds in domestic violence and complex needs including homelessness, mental health and substance misuse towards independence, creating support plans to advocate independence. As a support worker you will providing housing advice and providing service users advice on their benefits and welfare. You will be working with a wide range of complex needs so are required to create individually tailored and person centred support plans to service users. You will be carrying out floating support around the Bristol area so a car user is essential to this role. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide engaging support to service users to help them engage and develop within their local community making a big difference to individuals lives.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful support worker you will need work experience within a supported housing environment. You must have relevant knowledge on housing, domestic violence and complex needs. As this is a community based role you must have a driving license and access to a car. As a support worker you will need to flexible and have the passion and enthusiasm to go the extra mile for service users. Most importantly you must be willing to make a difference, working in a person-focused way to achieve goals and achievements.
