The company has been established for over 80 years, and they are a design and build Main Contractor across the Commercial, New Build and Refurbishments sectors. The company have grown to become one of the largest Nationwide construction companies in the South East, and in order to help continue this growth, a new position for a permanent senior site manager has been created. Collaborating with some of the country's leading clients on exciting flagship projects, you will have the potential to work alongside leading industry contacts.


Your new role
This role is for a Senior Site Manager to join the construction team in their healthcare division, where they have a minimum 3 year forward order book of projects - with healthcare facilities throughout Sussex (and beyond). The role reports into the Contracts Manager and key responsibilities include -


  • Overall management of the site to a safe and professional standard, ensuring work is completed on time and to budget - at the highest standard.
  • Liaising with customers; clients; subcontractors and the public in a professional and expert manner.
  • Identify the need for Risk Assessments Safe Systems of work . Manage and implement H&S procedures including the weekly audit process and ensuring all registers and documentation are entered correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Deliver changes to current working practices and procedures to provide service improvements through negotiation and consultation
  • Oversee budgets, valuations and costs whilst recognising contractual requirements. Ensuring the financial success of the project and putting forward suggestions for achieving this in innovative ways when practicable.
  • Ensure the staff you are responsible for understand their roles and responsibilities, and manage them accordingly by providing guidance/ training as necessary


  • What you'll need to succeed
    You will be an experienced Senior Construction Site Manager with a sound knowledge of the construction industry in general. A solid work history in Main Contracting is essential as you will be working on high profile projects often in a live environment. Ideally a background working in healthcare will be part of your general site experience. You will need to be driven & capable of running and delivering site completion smoothly and on time, whilst achieving high quality results in line with company reputation. This will require strong organisational and cost management skills. You will be able to effectively manage the direct site team as well as approved sub-contractors to bring the best out of them.

    • Holder of a Full UK Driving Licence
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Excellent communication skills and customer focused
    • Literate and numerate with good IT Skills
    • Self-motivated and ambitious
