Environmental Health Officer required in Central London to join the Food Safety Team.
Your new company
This Central London based public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit a Environmental Health Food Safety Officer to join their Food Safety Team.
This team are responsible for contributing to raising the standards of Food Safety, Health & Safety and increased Infectious Disease Control and Water Quality within the borough.
Your new role
As an Environmental Health Food Safety Officer you will be responsible for carrying out food hygiene, food standard and health and safety inspection in food premises, ensuring all performance targets are consistently met. It will also be your responsibility to carry out investigations in respect to infectious disease matter and drinking water quality. You will have the opportunity to participate in the provision of basic food hygiene training courses and will be required to undertake formal food sampling for examination and analysis.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
* Carry out detailed food hygiene inspections and investigations in food premises of all categories in accordance with current legislation, statutory Codes of Practice, LACORS circulars and advice and recognised standards of good practice, as authorised.
* Maintain full, accurate and appropriate records of inspections and investigations and other relevant contact with food businesses.
* To prepare letters and reports, including cases for prosecution in respect to complaints and other investigations in low risk premises for submission to the Food Safety Manager.
* Maintain an accurate and up to date knowledge on technical, scientific and legal developments in food hygiene and health and safety enforcement.
What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate you will need to be an experienced Environmental Health Food Safety Officer with comprehensive food safety knowledge with a Certificate in Food Premises Inspection registered with EHRB or equivalent.
Ability and confidence to prepare, write and present reports
Self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines
Willingness to work outside of contracted hours in the evenings and weekends subject to notice.
