Experienced and qualified Arboricultural Officer required for a public sector organisation in West London

Your new company
This West London based public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit an Arboricultural Officer to join their Parks and Open Spaces team.

This team are responsible for using the organisation's asset management system, Confirm Arboriculture, to undertake surveys and specify necessary works to be issues to the term contractor.


Your new role
As a Arboricultural Officer you will be responsible for investigating cases where unauthorised tree work has been carried out in contravention of planning legislation. You will also be responsible for assessing Section 211 notifications and tree work applications in order to ensure compliance with the borough's statutory obligations and policies with regard to trees.

Additional Responsibilities include:
* Carry out plant surveys to identify new opportunities throughout the borough's highways, parks and open spaces
* Respond to customer enquiries, undertaking site meetings and site inspections in order to answer the queries within corporate guidelines
* Monitor on-site performance of contractors to ensure that they are working to the expected standard and in accordance with the industry best practice
* Respond to emergency call outs in order to assess and organise appropriate action required
* Administer Tree Prevention Orders and present items at Planning Committee in order to address formal objections.

What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate you will have a minimum of a Level 3 Arboricultural qualification. You will have a strong understanding of how to use tree management software's such as Confirm Arboriculture. You will be confident in undertaking tree surveys for risk management purposes, recording observations and making work recommendations. A proven background in contract monitoring and liaison, including having taken action to address poor contractor performance is also desirable for this role.
