Job Details

Your new company
A job has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for an established fire protection contractor to be based in South London. They currently have a current turnover of just over £10 million, managing passive fire protection programmes for the social housing sector mainly, but are looking to diversify slightly and so this role will be working on commercial and residential refurbishment projects.

This company have a unique selling point within the industry in that they manufacture, install and certify all their products which means it allows for effective, efficient controlled supply to the end user. This means they can give their clients guarantee and satisfaction of fire protection across their housing stock. In turn taking advantage of what has been a political talking point in the recent years.

They have a small but busy team based in the South London office and this role will be intricate to the growth of the business, allowing the MD who still has a hands on role in bringing in new business, to concentrate on the strategic growth in the next few years.

Your new role
The role of the Quantity Surveyor will be lead for the commercial team, the main purpose of the role would include; accurately report the financial and contractual situation of the suppliers responsible for, measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications for payment including final accounts, take timely and proper action (e.g., notices) in accordance with the contract. Assist with preparation of contractual claims, contribute to the set up and review of the project risk register and financial and contractual needs of a contract are fully met in line with the required standards and time constraints

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have proven experience within a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a social housing contractor working on projects with contract values of up to £10 million. Whilst the bulk of the work this contractor takes on is social housing orientated, they have recently taken on refurbishment projects for schools and office buildings, so someone with this background would also prove valuable.

What you'll get in return
In return as the Senior Quantity, you can expect a salary of up to £65k plus benefits, which will include 20 days holiday + bank holidays and contributory pension.
