Ongoing opportunity based in Rochdale for an OSG

Your new company
HMP Buckley Hall are looking to recruit for an ongoing OSG based in Rochdale, Manchester. This company ensure that all Maintenance within the Prison is completed and kept at a high standard in the correct time frame and at all times.

Your new role
This is a highly varied role with many facets; In one capacity, you may be responsible for escorting contractors around the premises, ensuring that work is completed within the official prison guidelines. In this role, you will be working in and out the prisons, in all weather conditions.

Alternatively, in another capacity, you may be responsible for another element of the OSG position, where you will be responsible for providing assistance on the gatehouse, responsible for visitor management and ensuring prisoners are where they are supposed to be, this would be a shift role possibly including nights. You may also be deployed in the visitor centre, overseeing visitor hours and will also be involved in looking and working within the CCTV room.

The working week for this vacancy will vary as there is shift, nights and weekends involved, pay rates will comply along with this. This is an operational support job with no line management responsibilities.

What you'll need to succeed
You do not require any previous experience or qualifications for this role. You just need to be security conscious, able to challenge potential compromises and risk, and be reliable. To be successful for this role, you will need to pass a DBS clearance security clearance (organised by Hays) and also Prison clearance.

To apply for the DBS, you must hold a valid passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address, proof of National Insurance and proof of address dated in the past 3 months.
The prison clearance will be processed by the relevant prison in which you will need to complete vetting pack, a face to face interview and the passing of documents. This prison clearance can take up to 6 weeks to complete.

All applicants must be able to provide details of at least 2 satisfactory references, one from an ex-employer.

What you'll get in return
You will be paid weekly, every Friday, at a premium rate of £8.78 - £11.09, premium, per hour and you will receive all relevant training for this role such as an induction week and key training. The working week for this vacancy will vary as there is shift, nights and weekends involved, pay rates will comply along with this. You will have access to free onsite parking.
