Senior Quantity Surveyor

Your new company
This sub-contractor has significantly grown over the last 3 years, taking their turnover to £10 million this year. They are based in North Kent and work across Kent, London and the South East. Their projects range in value from £10k - £2 million, with a few large £1 million + projects taken on in the recent months.

Due to their continued growth and large projects being won, they are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, reporting into the Managing Directors to come on board and assist in structuring the profit margins on jobs and creating a better liaison between office and site.

As the business grows, the directors are looking for a succession plan to let the senior management team take more of lead in running the business. This will happen from securing this role and others like it on the operational side, with a plan to take effect in the next 5 years. This role will be significant the that plan.

Your new role
The role of the Quantity Surveyor will be to work lead the commercial team for the division, the main purpose of the role would include; accurately report the financial and contractual situation of the suppliers responsible for, measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications for payment including final accounts, take timely and proper action (e.g., notices) in accordance with the contract. Assist with preparation of contractual claims, contribute to the set up and review of the project risk register and financial and contractual needs of a contract are fully met in line with the required standards and time constraints. You will also manage a buyer and other staff as the team grow.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have proven experience within a Senior Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within a sub-contractor working on projects with contract values of up to but not limited to £3 million. The ideal candidate would have experience of working within the painting and decorating sector, dry lining or carpentry.

What you'll get in return
In return as the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you can expect a salary of up to £60k plus pension and holidays.
